WE ARE THE CHANGE!
$58,000 was pledged toward the ELCA Malaria Initiative at the Rocky Mountain Synod Senior High Youth Gathering in Estes Park the weekend before Thanksgiving. 250 individuals and 30 congregational youth groups placed pledge cards in the offering plate at the closing Sunday morning worship service to support the ELCA’s work to stop the devastating effects of Malaria in the world.
As youth and youth groups collect funds toward what they have pledged they should report the amount collected to congregation youth Malaria Initiative coordinators. The money should be given to congregational treasurers who should in turn forward the money to the ELCA, noting its use for the Malaria Initiative. Don't forget to send a quick email to LYO, sharing with us what you have raised for Malaria Initiative.
Need ideas of how to raise funds? The youth at the 2009 Sr. High Gathering came up with an endless list of ways you can raise money. Each week the LYO will post the top ten ideas to help you out in doing God's work.
